'Cha 9' expands to CHAndigarh 9, a special 'fancy' number of an Audi SUV on roads on Chandigarh. 'Chords' is an inspiration slash recommendation from a friend when I thought of how to use cha9 to get a website! Still not on to a website, but getting there!

  1. I always wanted to know the district in West Bengal a vehicle belonged or is registered whenever I drove outside Kolkata. This is due to my curiosity and this info is extremely helpful in this regard. Thanks !

    1. Dear Sir,

I want to know the name of the owner and address of the owner for the tow wheeler vehicle No: WB 74 M 1340, which please mail to me immediately.

      Thanks & Regards,
      V.R.Chowdari

  2. Recently there is a news that transfer of ownership for vehicles from one registering authority to another within West Bengal is not being allowed. Is it true. In that case if my address is in Nadia District, I will never be able to purchase a car from Kolkata or any other Motor Vehicle within this State as transfer of ownership will not be allowed. Please confirm the status.

    1. It’s from Howrah for sure 🙂

Name of the owner? Only Transport department can tell you.
Name of the truck? You’ll have to look closer or make an educated guess!

  3. I have a two wheeler which was bought when I was in Delhi. I changed the address & got the RC. But still is with Delhi no. Now I want to change my Delhi registration no into West Bengal Registration no. How do I do this. I already paid the West Bengal Road Tax. Eagerly look forward for a response.

    1. From what I remember from a time long gone.
You’d have to get an NOC from Delhi RTO, show that to WB RTO and get it done.

But I think the best way would be to check with your local RTO office, and get the detailed procedure from them. I say this because I remember a friend saying that his Bangalore bought bike couldn’t be transferred to Delhi. Only a local RTO office can provide the details!

  4. You really make it appear so easy with your presentation but I in finding this matter to be actually something that I think I would by no means understand. It kind of feels too complex and extremely vast for me. I’m having a look forward for your next put up, I’ll try to get the hold of it!

  5. I have a four wheeler car which was bought from Burdwan mv registration. I changed the address to hooghly mv registration. But still is with burdwan no. Now I want to change my hooghly registration no into West Bengal Registration no. How do I do this. I already paid the West Bengal Road Tax. Eagerly look forward for a response.

    1. Here in Delhi, I haven’t seen any battery operated Rickshaw having a registration number. I believe the best way to this information would be to go to the nearest seller & coax him to get the info.

  6. how much should i pay for transtortation of veicle from kolkatta to siliguri do we need any noc for kolkatta nos veicle if i use in siliguri?

    1. Why transport, when you can ride? Looks like it would be a 2 day long trip. Not too bad!
Within state there’s no need for extra documentation. But in case you’re in doubt check with your local Transport Authority.

  7. I have WB 77(other than transport vech) registration which I want to replace with WB 76(transport vech) what should be done? Is WB 77 transferable?

      1. Sorry but I can’t offer more details. Vehicle’s detailed information is only available with RTOs.
Since it’s a Hooghly vehicle, please contact RTO office at Hooghly for details about the vehicle.

    1. There’s no need to transfer a vehicle within state. Transference is only required when moving from one state to another.
If you still want to, best contact Transport Authority at Murshidabad. They would be able to best tell you the documents & formalities required.

    1. Yes, you can!
